I think throughout the ages, people would have told stories about them meeting jesus and being a part of his miracles. i think this got replaced by elders throughout the ages telling people to read the gospels to see what they saw, or, their great grandfather saw. this relay is still going today!
What i find strange is that there were no pharisees - who were in power - enough to counter these stories. were they scared, or, is it true?
